We are proud to showcase the winning artists, who range in age from 10 years old to 70 years old.

Artist: Sara Prigan

Sara works in acrylics and, increasingly, other media. She especially admires the work of painters Richard Diebenkorn, Alice Neel, and Chaim Soutine. This painting of Zoe Kitty Statland is her second painting of a nonhuman animal. Zoe is a Maine Coon cat. She is 18, and thus old enough to vote. Artist: Barbara Watson

Barbara learned enameling and metal working at Penland School of Crafts in NC with Helen Hosking, Gary Knofke and Elliot Pugot. She was in Penland in the late 1970's. Barbara, and her husband Larry, sold their work at Eastern Market from 1997-2012.

Artist: Torie Partridge

Torie Partridge is the owner of Cherry Blossom Creative, a design studio and shop in Shaw, DC. She is the illustrator behind the Neighborhood Maps Project, a growing series of colorful maps that celebrate neighborhood culture, cities, and all the places we call home. Torie believes in the power of hyper-local culture and investing in the place you live. She’s also a conscious movement facilitator, tarot enthusiast, avid traveler, and loves her two cats, Magic and Icaro.

Artist: Grace Loftin

Grace is 10 years old and lives in Maryland with her dad, brother, dog, and three cats. She loves singing, art, and animals.
